Bangladeshi News: India-China relations have become heated. Troops from both countries are on high alert after clashes with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley on the Ladakh border. In the midst of such a situation, this time India is moving with the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. New Delhi feels that Andaman Nicobar's position on the Indian Ocean is very important in the face of China.

The issue of military infrastructure and numbers in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands has been on the back burner for a long time, but India's aggressive behavior in Ladakh has led India to compromise on security in the Indian Ocean region.

The first Andaman Nicobar Command was established in 2001. It is still the first and only theater command in India, where the Army, Air Force and Navy are under a single operational commander.

China imports oil from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands over the Indian Ocean. With that in mind, the importance of the Andaman-Nicobar Command is being increased. The runway length is being extended at INS Kohasar, a naval air station at Shibpur in northern Andamans. The length of the runway is being extended so that larger warplanes can operate from here if necessary.
