Corona Virus Update The Chinese vaccine will be administered to 2100 people in Bangladesh for testing.

Corona Virus Update: The Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) has given moral approval to the third phase (clinical trial) of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine made by China's Sinovek Company in Bangladesh. The International Center for Diarrhea Research, Bangladesh (ICDDRB) will conduct the test. It has been decided to give this approval on Sunday in view of the protocol submitted by this organization. The vaccine will be tested on health workers of seven hospitals in the country.

The vaccine will be administered to a total of 2,100 people.

Mahmud Uz Jahan, Director, BMRC, told today, "ICDDRB has submitted to us the protocol for the third phase testing of the vaccine made by China's Sinovec Research and Development Limited." The National Research Ethics Committee has given ethical approval. The committee gave its moral approval. Now they will get the administrative approval of the institutions where they will conduct this test. 'Mahmud Uz Jahan said that the protocol given to BMRC by ICDDRB will be applied to 4,200 people.
Dr. Jahan said, however, 4,200 people will not get vaccinated. Half of them will get vaccinated, half will not. This is the rule of research.

The ICDDRB has sought approval from the Department of Health for vaccination tests in seven hospitals across the country, the BMRC director said. If the department approves, the examination will start in these hospitals, said the director of BMRC.

Mahmud Uz Jahan said that the seven institutions that will be vaccinated are Mugda Medical College Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital Burn Unit-1, Kurmitola General Hospital, Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital, Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital Unit. -2 and Dhaka Metropolitan Hospital.

ICDDRB submitted the protocol to BMRC about a month ago.

There are now at least 180 coronary vaccine initiatives around the world. Of these, only two tickers are in the third stage. Next to this vaccine of Sinovek is the vaccine of Oxford University in the United Kingdom in the third step.

Corona virus update

The corona outbreak began last December in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The World Health Organization's local office announced the new virus on 31 December. It is thought that among the initiatives taken by China from the beginning to prevent the virus was an attempt to invent a vaccine. Sinovec Biotech is ahead in this regard. Probably the name of the synovic vaccine is 'coronavic'.
Talking to vaccine and drug experts, it was learned that the first stage test shows how safe the vaccine is for people. Phase II tests show how effective the vaccine is in preventing certain germs. The third stage test shows how safe and effective the vaccine is.

A leading pharmacist in the country told Prothom Alo that tests should be done in cases where there is a social infection. This requires a large number of patients. There is no social infection in China now. Sinovek has chosen countries like Brazil and South Africa for the third round of testing. Bangladesh is going to be added to that list. Social transition is still going on in these countries.

The World Health Organization will help developing countries like Bangladesh to get vaccinated. However, the company will not be able to build stocks to vaccinate all the people in these countries soon. A list of high-risk people is being compiled in each country. Health workers are at the top of this list.

Vaccination rates are much higher in Bangladesh. Immunization management in the country is also much improved. In September last year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was awarded the 'Vaccine Hero' for the unique success of Bangladesh's child immunization program. The award was presented to the Prime Minister at the UN Headquarters by the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI). On May 4, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina addressed the World Leaders at the Virtual Global Vaccine Conference organized by the Gavi Alliance. He called for the rapid development of vaccines to protect mankind. Government officials believe that this success and reputation of Bangladesh will require work to collect vaccines for the people.
